Applicable fees and costs

The applicable fees for maintaining and issuing licences shown on this page are valid from May 1, 2023 to April 30, 2024 and are reviewed every year based on the rate of increase of the Consumer Price Index for Canada and the level of processing required for each application.

The administrative fees below are reviewed and valid for a period of three years, extending from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2026.


ADMINISTRATIVE FEES: all the rates below include taxes and are valid from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2026.

Licence changes: any change to a current or finalized application is subject to additional administrative fees.

  • Assigning a broker to another establishment: $35
  • Authorization (or withdrawal of authorization) to practise within a business corporation: $105
  • Agency or broker change of name: $105
  • Application for voluntary suspension or revocation during the year: $35
  • Licence modification and addition of qualifications: $105
  • Appointment of an agency executive officer: $105
  • Change of agency: $105

Administrative processing: use this payment form (PDF) to pay the administrative processing fee and attach it to your application.

  • Changes to a current or finalized application: $35
  • Invoice payment made to the OACIQ in error: $35

Lifting of a licence suspension

  • Administrative: $105 (Example: after a request for voluntary suspension, after a cessation of activities on behalf of an agency, expiry of a disciplinary sanction, etc.)  
  • Licensee who fails to fulfil his obligations toward the OACIQ: $400 (e.g.: Failure to complete the mandatory information update, failure to complete the MCEP, failure to change one's photo, failure to honour a commitment to complete a training course within a certain period, etc.).

  • Change of electronic or paper photo – more than 12 months prior to the expiry date: $35

Others:

  • Licence certificate: $35

Licence issuance and maintenance: Following the issuance of a real estate broker's or agency licence, you must renew the licence every year, no later than April 30, and the amount payable at that time will cover a full year. Visit this page to download the various forms to be completed.

Applicable fees: the total amount of applicable fees for the issuance of a real estate broker’s licence and the InstanetFormsTM fees detailed here (PDF) vary depending on the month in which you wish to start or resume your practice. If you carry out residential real estate transactions, you must subscribe to InstanetFormsTM electronic forms to access current versions of brokerage forms.

Applicable fees: all rates below include the application examination fee, the FICI contribution, the InstanetFormsTM electronic forms subscription fee, the criminal record check fee, taxes, and FARCIQ premium. Therefore, in the event of a refusal to issue a licence or cancellation of the application, only the fees related to the right to practise, the contribution to the Indemnity Fund (FICI), the premium of the Professional Liability Insurance Fund (FARCIQ) and the subscription to the electronic forms will be refunded.

For example: if you want a licence to be issued to you to start practising in September, you will pay $1,676.25 taxes included to which a fee of $53.66 taxes included has been added for subscription to InstanetFormsTM electronic forms. The grand total is $1,729.91 taxes included. Your licence will be valid from the date of issue until April 30 of the current year.


Acquired rights: rates below include taxes and apply to brokers whose licence is currently revoked with acquired rights and who wish to maintain them for an extra year. Applicable fees: The total amount of applicable fees varies depending on the month in which you wish to start or resume your practice. The application examination fee is not refundable and is payable when you submit your application, in addition to any applicable fees imposed by regulations. This fee will be deducted from the total amount to be paid for the licence upon the issuance of your agency licence. Where applicable, other administrative fees mentioned above apply.

*The premium of the Professional Liability Insurance Fund (FARCIQ) must be added to this amount. It varies based on the application of the regulations and the case study.


LICENCE MAINTENANCE 2024: the rates below include taxes and apply to holders of valid licences who wish to maintain their right to practise for an extra year. The licence renewal period starts in March of the current year.

  • Real estate broker’s licence and subscription to InstanetFormsTM electronic forms: $1,973.56
  • Real estate broker’s licence without subscription to InstanetFormsTM electronic forms: $1,890.78
