Committees
The OACIQ enforces the Real Estate Brokerage Act and ensures that the professionals who are duly authorized to act by the Organization comply with their code of ethics. To do this, five committees were created under this Act and their mission is to protect you in your real estate transactions.
Discipline Committee
The Discipline Committee hears complaints pertaining to ethical faults committed by brokers or agencies and has the power to impose penalties.
Licence Issue and Maintenance Committee (LIMC)
The LIMC makes decisions on licence issue and maintenance where a licence has been revoked, suspended or subjected to restrictions.
Inspection Committee
The inspection committee ensures that the professionals who are authorized to act by the OACIQ carry out their activities in compliance with the Act, by promoting prevention and training.
Syndic Decision Review Committee (SDRC)
The SDRC makes a ruling on the syndic’s decision not to file a complaint with the discipline committee upon request by the person who requested the investigation.
Indemnity Committee
The indemnity committee decides on claim admissibility filed with the Real Estate Indemnity Fund (FICI) and rules on the amount of compensation to be paid.
